Reviews of Voyaging to the Mediterranean

Great people...living life to the fullest
William Parlatore, founder PassageMaker Magazine
The Umstots have accomplished more cruising aboard their trawler than most cruisers can even imagine. They have come in and out of my life as they travel the world, and we've been lucky to have them speak at our popular TrawlerPort and Trawler Fest events. Quiet and unassuming, Denis and Mary are happy to share what they've seen and learned as they continue to live life big time...full time.
Mary has quite a few tales to tell of their passagemaking adventures over more than a decade. In this book, she takes the reader inside the Mediterranean cruising life, and a great many sea miles that passed under Teka III's keel. As all cruisers know, it's not always smooth seas and calm weather, but the good and the bad eventually combine to put a rich patina over the cruising experience, and the author tells it like it is. The boats, the people, and the lifestyle of passagemaking are what Mary and Denis found aboard Teka III.If you dream far over the horizon, you'll find this a good read to whet your appetite for adventure.
